I have seen so many movies since my last entry. I think I’m going to have to do two posts in a row because it’s just so many!

Out of a 1-5 star rating. The ones in bold had more than a 3 star rating:

The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer 1947 (w/ Cary Grant & Shirley Temple) – 3.5 stars. I thought this was hilarious. Really adorable. Shirley Temple was a teenager in this one.

Don’t Bother to Knock 1952 (w/ Marilyn Monroe) – 2 stars. Sorry but her acting was dreadful! The clothes that she and Ann Bancroft wore were sweet though.

The Edge of Love 2008 (w/ Kiera Knightly, Sienna Miller) – 2 stars. long and drawn out and depressing. great clothes though.

The Princess Diaries 2001 (w/ Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway) – 3 stars. It was not bad. Kinda cute.

Confessions of a Shopaholic 2009 (w/ Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy) – 3.25 stars. This made me laugh often.
Carolina 2003 (w/Julia Stiles, Shirley McClaine) – 2.25 stars. Parts were funny and I did tear up at one point, but I don’t know.  I wasn’t feeling this one.

As Young as You Feel 1951 (w/ Monty Wooley, Thelma Ritter) – boring. 2 stars.
Super Capers 2008 (w/ Steve Braun, Christine Lakin) – 2.5 stars. hilariously corny super hero satire. really lame though.

Bridget Jones’s Diary 2001 (w/ Renee Zellwager, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth) 2.5 stars. This could have done without a lot of the content that was sexual and the language. The story was sweet otherwise.

War Dance 2006 – documentary – 3.5 stars. This was great to see how refugees from Uganda who have seen and been a part of the Lord’s Resistance Army’s effects were able to go to their love of music to try to get them through their tragedies.

It Happened One Night 1934 (w/ Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert) 3.25 stars. Always a fun time watching this one. The walls of Jericho scenes get me laughing every time.

She’s All That 1999 (w/ Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachael Leigh Cook) 2 stars. This was better when I saw it in high school. Now it’s just so stupid. I can’t believe I was in high school that year to have to suffer with the bad fashion and “what if”s and such.

Only Angels Have Wings  1939 (w/ Rita Hayworth, Cary Grant) 3 stars. not bad. not amazing.

Only You 1994 (w/ Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr.) 3.75 stars. I watch this movie about 3 times a year. The romance just gets me every time. The fashion was awful but I just melt a lot when I watch this. I took screen shots to show what makes me swoon most. This is also in honour of Robert Downey Jr. winning his second Golden Globe for his role as Sherlock Holmes. . .(my second favourite actor of all time, favourite of my time period)

when we first meet RDJ’s character: :: sigh ::
The kissing scenes (goodness! My husband’s profile looks exact so this makes me swoon more)
His lines right here (I won’t give them away). :: swoon ::
These socks. has nothing to do with the scene but it’s hilarious to me. this is a sweet and sadly short scene.

  2. I didn't know if people read these large suggestion posts or not!

  3. So now I really want to see The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer. I died a little inside when I read your review of Don't Bother to Knock– though I'll admit I may be biased– Monroe-addict.

  5. […] Robert Downey Jr. made me giggle because they played love interests with one another in the film Only You which is one of my favorites of him.  I still can’t really connect with Captain America, but […]
