Railway Love Dress

The beautiful Aya of Strawberry Koi had posted this entry on her blog with so many gorgeous photos of herself in dresses she was selling. I fell in love with a couple of the dresses, especially one. I have given it a happy home. This dress will be posted up all week because I took a lot of photos wearing it alone and with my family in photos.

It was so gorgeous on Saturday. The sun was shining and it was very warm but there was a cool breeze that kept drifting in regularly. Sometimes it was a strong gust.
so strong of a gust that sometimes I had to hold down my skirt
I was looking at a bunch of kids staring at me as I was taking these. There were a few people who kept walking through or rode their bikes by. One guy asked me if I was doing a school project (after he told me a train would run me over). . . which is weird considering he even asked my husband who was standing talking to our sons (but Rob didn’t hear him and gave him a weird answer that had nothing to do with it). I just told him “I’m past that age”. . since most college kids graduate at 22, and I am 26. . .granted I know people who went to college in their 30s and 40s.
The back details (this one shot by Rob)
Vintage Dress: Strawberry Koi Vintage
Shoes: Oxford boots from Forever 21
Flower hair accessory: Lila-jo
Speaking of which my husband is so wonderful to be supportive of me doing these shoots. He does read my blog and puts the photos on his work computer wallpaper and phone wallpaper too.  He was right near me as I took these. . I was all done with the shoot and getting the tripod packed up. Here is our jeep and the kids are in the back and Rob is leaning over talking to them through the window.
So thanks to him being a good sport (and my sons too).
Thanks everyone for the condolences about the loss of my uncle. You are all very sweet.

  1. Your family seems sweet. πŸ™‚ I really like this shoot. It looks like it was taken so long ago. The sepia ones are especially great. They look like stills from a silent film!

  2. You look beautiful & I love your new red hair! I love being a redhead. I like how the boots made the outfit a bit more rugged. I've worn both the dress & the jeans I bought from you. I wore the dress to my daughters first birthday party. It was perfect because we had clowns & a candy/old fashioned soda bar. Everyone thought I planned it. I wear the jeans almost every day & I always get tons of compliments. I just listed a authentic Louis Vuitton purse on ebay & I'm giving part of whatever I make to the love146 group. Your good doings have inspired me. I'm happy to have met such a beautiful person inside & out.

  3. THank you so much!! Yeah train tracks have been a fascination of mine for a while. I don't know why. My husband's family line worked on this actual railway and the steam engines that ran on it, so it does have some historical meaning to us with his family.
