There is rhythm to my life that ebbs and flows

My husband chose this dress for me out of a few, and I will say it is so comfortable and nice to wear.
I love the little pockets on it too.
The sun was setting as I took these so I fought the squinting best I could.
woops, you see my full slip a tiny bit there, which is really a great 50s slip someone gave me
This place was such a nice location, right by a soccer field where girls were practicing Lacrosse as I took these.
ouch sun in my eyes made me close them.
There is a little keyhole opening on the top back of the dress.
My husband was sitting in the car with the boys watching me photograph myself, smiled at me, and I fought smiling back, but it didn’t work too well!
and the front design is so lovely too – I have to stop tilting my head all the time, it isn’t just in photos. . I do it constantly – so much so that in high school a teacher used to tilt her head when she’d see me in the hallways and suddenly I’d straighten it.

  1. I remember seeing this dress at Dear Golden; it's so pretty on you (the color looks really lovely with your hair)! And I love the warm, golden lighting in these photos!

  2. This is so funny! I think your tilted head looks so demure and coy though. It could be your trademark 😉 Very classy and pretty dress- I will forever envy your frame for being able to pull off that length.Thank you for the extra long comment. Your comments are always the best to read! I learned a lot about homeschooling and I kind of wish it wasn't considered weird to be home schooled here.Bea from A plus B

  3. HI dear, I keep seeing your beautiful photos popping up wherever I go, so finally I decided to came by and say Hi to the real person. I really adore the pretty feminine silhouettes you sport and your intricate hairstyles. Stay in touch. Love from Toronto, CanadaP.S: I am hosting my very first giveaway, it's open to US and Canada only. Please do visit to see if you like it. 🙂

  4. Hello! So glad I found your blog :)I love love love the vintage look. I always put a twist in my hair whenever I am feelin' a little pin-up girl-ish! You look so pleasantly happy on that fence.Lovely blog! XO. I am now following you .www.styleactivist.blogspot.com

  5. I love the detail of the dress, the design is so lovely with a simple colour like navy. And the lighting and scenery in your photos are stunning! My husband tries to make me laugh when he is taking my outift shoots as well and it's so cute, but the photos never turn out well! >0<xox,bonita of Depict This!

  6. I really want to live in the countryside. All B and I have got is concrete and glass. Sunset really makes pictures look ten times better, without fancy photography doodads (!) and we try to take ours at 4 in the afternoon.I love your long comments! It makes me feel like we have a common connection despite the totally different backgrounds. I would raise my hypothetical kids at home too (though my friends have laughed at me). I mean, I loved my school but I definitely would like more control over what the little ones learn in pre-school and grade school.A from A +B in the Sea

  7. The detail is just GREAT on this dress…kinda like the colour, it's muted but unique 🙂 I love the different fabric around the yoke and the keyhole and ruffle and the way the skirt falls. Plus you have the full slip under it, which just makes the outfit so much better (even if you can't see it).The black and white photo of you sitting on the fence looks like something out of a photo gallery. Just stunning ❤ One of the best blog pics I've ever seen.

  8. Victoria you are so beautiful! I love your dress. You'll be able to wear it when it cools off with a sweater. I'm on my way to check out the cover of the vouge magazine.

  9. These photos are lovely, Victoria! 🙂 I do like the detail on the front of the dress a lot. Very classy! And oh, thanks for reminding me about pomade. Maybe I should try that stuff. My hubby doesn't really like gel on my hair. I hope pomade doesn't make the hair too stiff, but if it's going to be applied on the top of the head… it's not like I want that area to be touched anyway!

  10. That dress is gorgeous, I love it, I love your hair as well (I'm sure I've said that before), I would really love it if you'd do a picture tutorial on your blog one day on how you do your hair like that(maybe you've already done it, in which case please could you send me the link). Thanks chick and have a great week! xxx
