Hoth-Swiss Mrs

I’m a week behind in outfit posts. I took this set last week. I noticed after I took it that so many bloggers are posting the same type of of hairstyle!! I used to do my hair like this a lot when I was a waitress when I was 20-21. I missed it a lot when I cut my hair. I used to call it my “Hoth Hair” because of Leia Organa of Star Wars from when they go to Hoth in Empire Strikes Back. Yes, I love my Star Wars. Of course the last time I did it, I didn’t have my elf hair like I do now so I love how interesting this style looks with the elf hair!
Therefore this outfit reminds me of and odd mix of Swiss Miss and Hoth fashion. HAHA.

 ❤ gingham

My one issue with this dress, like most dresses, is that the person who modeled it in the shop I bought it from was much shorter than I. It looks like a little girl’s dress on me but fit them perfectly. Such is the life of a taller girl. I’ll probably sell this one because of that.

I really love flowers in my hair, in case you haven’t noticed by now since most of my outfits include them!

And little birds in my hair is fun too – yes i have really thick hair and so much of it.

Vintage 60s dress: IKahn Vintage (I love huge sales)

  1. I was squealing as soon as I saw the first pic because I remember this dress from my etsy favourites :DYou look brilliant! I know what you mean with the little girl thing – I hate how everything turns into a slight empire waist on me (so I can't wear any "real" empire waists argh) but actually I really like this one on you. It 's such a girlie dress anyway so IMO it works really well :)Happy weekend!Love your hair esp. the gorgeous flower 🙂 Your hair/hair dos amaze without fail.

  2. Sometimes I get really frustrated by how short some skirts and dresses can be, and I'm not even that tall! The dress looks super cute on you though, and I love your Leia Hoth braids! Star Wars is the bomb.

  3. Darling, this is my first visit to your blog and I'm already addicted. New follower here, obviously and I just hyped you all over the place on Lookbook. I'm a clothing designer with a modest, vintage-inspired point-of-view and would love to collaborate with you sometime in the future. Keep it up over here!Kristina J.

  4. Hey Victoria! It's Michelle. This dress is adorable! But I really like cutesy things like that, lol. One of the fashion bloggers I follow http://geekthreads.blogspot.com/(actually the only one) is concerned with modesty as well. She almost always wears a slightly longer skirt underneath shorter skirts and dresses. 1) to make it more modest and 2) to add shape and color. She's really interested in design and reading her blog helped me tremendously with putting things together creatively but in a way that works. Maybe it would be good for you to invest in some inexpensive skirts in a few different colors for this purpose? Anyway, hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

  5. I love this dress… the pink gingham and the big buttons are just too cute! It's funny, I always do Heidi braids when I'm waitressing, too… it's such a practical but cute style when you need to keep your locks out of other people's food ; )

  6. I adore those boots and that dress is just the cutest thing I've ever seen! Your blog is fab beyond belief. I'm smitten with the layout. Followin' for sure ;D

  7. Oh this is great I loved that dress but just couldn't buy it, I wish I knew Ikahn was having a sale, haha!! And hoth hair! love it, haha! The dress looks fine 🙂 it's only a little down the rabbit hole 😉 heh<3 LaurenOh and you should totally do some 12 days o' chirstmas inspired shots! I will post more about the idea on my blog soon yay!

  8. Haha I loved your intro to this post!! It made me laugh. I didn't even have to click the links to the references because I knew exactly what you were talking about. I did click them anyway. What's cool about the elf hair and the Hoth hair combo is that you can get away looking like you have short hair with this from the front. For a second, I thought you had your hair cut short until I looked at the sides! About having thick hair: I think I remembered from one of your comments a while back that you rarely shampoo your hair (a couple/few times per week)? I'm the same way. From what I have read before, showering/shampooing your hair less gives you thick shiny hair, and it really does happen.
