Medieval Times & Formspring Video Responses

I know some of you might have watched a movie called The Cable Guy in the past.  There is a scene where Matthew Broderick and Jim Carrey go into an area at Medieval Times to fight. Believe it or not, the place exists but they never allow people to have a tournament against each other there. Everyone has to be trained for it.  There are only 8 castle locations in the US and one of them is about 20 minutes from where I live here in NJ.
We went along with the some of the youth group that I’m a leader in. Here I am with Rob.
It is really a lot of fun where you have a knight in which you cheer for. There is a storyline as well.  The storyline was different since I last went there in 7th grade for a school trip. This is a good thing of course, since that was 14 years ago. My favorite part is the food. You have to eat it with your hands (they give you wet cloths afterwards).  The soup is amazing. I remember loving it when I first went and they didn’t let me down the second time around.
This guy took advantage of his stage voice, as he did a bunch of announcements before and during the show.
These are basically all the servers dressed up to introduce the king
Each section had their own knight. We were the Red Knight (closest to the camera). Unfortunately he didn’t win, but he got pretty far in the games.
My son Leto turned 4 years old on the 2nd. I didn’t take any photos on his birthday, but took this around his special day. I’ve been enjoying seeing him learn and grow!
And this is my 2 year old Micah
My Formspring Q&A (couldn’t fit them all on here, another time soon)

  1. I've never been to Midieval Times, but there is a Renaissance Faire near my house, and they have jousting there. It's loads of fun. One lucky lady is even picked from each section to put a favor on the knights lance. I've never been picked, though. :(My friends and I always dress in costume, and last time my big sister and I followed Robin Hood (the actir playing him) around, watching the stir unfold. It was loads of fun!!Anyway, I'm so glad you had fun! And your children are adorable! <3~ Katiehttp://www.beautifully-pure.com

  2. I didn't know Leto's birthday was on the 2nd!! Micah and Titus were born on Feb 3rd, and that's also the day that Elliott and I started dating. Isn't it funny how our lives have very important dates similarly matched?I LOVE Medieval Times (that probably isn't a surprise to you). The last time I went was right before I worked at the Renn Faire. It's been so long. They don't have one here. But they do have one in Maryland and Elliott went there growing up.

  3. Ooh, I absolutely love Medieval Times! I went there once on a trip with my choir and our knight was the blue one, and I still remember how happy we were when we won and he threw a flower up to us and we caught it!! Happy Birthday Leto!

  4. Ok, first, your boys are BEAUTIFUL! Stunning!2nd, I have always wanted to go to Medieval Times….well, ok, ever since I saw Cable Guy in the 8th grade. (obsessed with that movie)So I'm super jealous. Did you know that we have something similar in the South, called the Dixie Stampede!? And instead of knights, it's all soldiers and cowboys and indians. But mostly reenactments of Civil War times. And when you go in, they tell you if you're cheering on the North or the South. And of course you eat with your hands. It's really fun. I've been about 5 times. But next, I will go to Medieval Times. 🙂

  5. Gah Medieval Times, that place looks awesome!! That places looks so sweet! Your boys are too cute!Aw stationary! I have so much too! It's so fun 🙂 I love your video it's so cute!!

  6. The formspring won't load, probably because I am on the lameo work computer. This place looks SO FUN! Right up my alley!! I want to go to this place so bad, I think the closest one to me is in Illinois, but it is exxxpensive. You guys look like yoiu had a lot of fun!I love the baby pics! Your children take after their mom 🙂

  7. I believe we have Medieval Times close to where we live, but I've never been! Rob has I think, and I'd love for him to take me… I guess I never thought of it until you had this post! Happy birthday to Leto!Oh my goodness. You've SEEN a lot of RDJ movies! Sadly, our movie watching have decreased a bit as a couple because we don't like seeing all that sexual content either. Tropic Thunder was incredibly funny, but it did have naked women on the covers of the magazines, sadly. I haven't checked the content for Due Date, but I'm afraid it'll have stuff in it, too. I would like to see that one, though!I'm typing out my comment as I listen to you haha. You are funny. I LOVE Better Off Dead! Good choices for the rest, too!! Penpals: I am honored to be in your "collection." 🙂 Columbine shootings: "not because of them being dead"! Hehe. That was interesting to hear that you relate with them. My high school years were the toughest from freshman to sophomore year, and they just got better in my upperclassman years. I love hearing you speak, too 🙂 I can't wait to meet you hopefully sometime in the near future. You seem really fun and laid back but at the same time serious and passionate about important issues. I think you are great! I joke around a lot too, and I tend to be gravitated towards people who are cheerful and have a sense of humor but are serious and dedicated to their faith. Aww, Micah has GORGEOUS eyes! That was funny to hear Leto at the end of the video saying "No! I have to go potty."As always, thanks for leaving that comment on my post! To be honest, last year's fashion show wasn't really modest. I saw lots of cleavage and short skirts, and their topic was all about self confidence. I spoke at their meeting with the intention of driving the point of modesty home. Since I think I am speaking at this year's show, I will have to speak my mind honestly but lovingly. I know that I might not be invited to speak again, but I think they really need to hear it. I think that the fathers who went to the fashion show were probably a bit tempted seeing all that skin on the stage. I'm glad I didn't bring Rob to the show last year because I was really stunned. I think that they are "good" people, but they really need to be directed to modesty more. They're just not aware of it as we are. Their teacher is a beauty pageant queen, and she seems to still wear clothes I wouldn't wear now. Anyway, you don't have to respond to that part of my comment back at least in public! I just wish that people understood that low cut shirts and short skirts are immediately tempting to guys even when their motivations for choosing are "innocent".

  8. The nudity wasn't in the theatrical version. I saw it in the theater too, and all I saw were the booties from the "commercial" in the beginning. The unrated version though from the DVD we saw with our friends had a scene with Playboy magazines with breasts visible. It was short, but it still had that, sadly!

  9. I have ALWAYS wanted to go there ever since seeing the Cable Guy!! so jealousYour childres are such handsome young gentlemen. I love their names, too. Both very classic. Are they biblical?jenniwells.blogspot.com

  10. I FINALLY got 'round to watching this video! I love how you talk, it's so laid back and relaxed. And I like looking at your pretty face. I feel like a lustful man now. >.> Seriously though, I already read your formspring answers but it was lovely hearing you answer them in your own voice! Also, how on earth does RDJ have 63 movies?? I'm seriously impressed. I love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang though, definitely one of my faves. And your kids are adorable! 😀 Well, the one I saw. The other one sounded adorable, haha.

  13. I love dinner theatres so so much. They are super fun. I've been to something similar in Tennessee, but it was a Dixie Stampede. I think the medieval times looks way cooler:D Your boys are just darling.
