More than Just an Outfit Post – The Spiritual Sister

It was great to get a chance to hang-out this weekend with one of my dearest best friends ever, Lynsie.
She lives on the opposite end of NJ (literally. . I’m at the top part of NJ and she’s at the bottom tip of NJ – a 3 hour drive). We had fun together as always.
In case you’re wondering, I met Lynsie through the good old internet years ago (I believe I was 19 or 20. . I’m 27 now) but it took a couple of years before we started to get to know each other more personally. Eventually we started to write each other snail-mail letters and e-mails, did an online daily Bible Study together for a couple years, and started to hang out a few times a year. Now we run Ruby-Eyed Okapi together promoting modesty and purity. She’s been an amazing friend to me, giving me advice, asking for advice, and we always are able to grow together and learn together. She is one of those people that I respect her honest opinion in telling me when I’m wrong and I review it and try to understand her reasoning. I do the same for her as well. We are able to show love to one another and be spiritual sisters through our love for God. I am really blessed that I have her in my life.
She was going to eat my butterfly.
We didn’t plan on growing our hair long together. . I have 9 more inches before my hair is back to the length it used to be at and she never had her hair this long before and is curious to see how long it can get. It was funny because my hair grows really quickly and was noticeably shorter than her hair just a few months ago. Lynsie wanted to take a couple shots of the back of our heads to see who had longer hair. I should have bent down a bit to help. 😛
I think I ruined this shot of Lynsie, because she looks amazing in it, but it’s sweet.
In case you’re wondering. .
My outfit is from Delias,
shoes from Modcloth,
accessories (hairclips and necklace) from Lila-Jo,
and socks from Target.
Lynsie changed her clothes about 4 times before we took these shots. haha. She was originally in this and went back in it. She had some really cute dresses she had on, but I’ll photograph her in one of those next time (and it was really chilly out).

  1. you look gorgeous, that dress is divine and so cute with the socks! I got to know my best friends (and my boyfriend!) on the internet too btw. It broadens our horizons and enables us to meet people we ACTUALLY like instead of "cope with" 😀

  2. Oh my goodness!! I was wishing for a dress exactly that color yesterday! Great! Now I want to buy one just like it and I'm broke. :-PSecond of all, oh my goodness!! You two sound almost just like my big sister and I! We met online three years ago and now we're best friends. ❤ I love her so much, and I'd be completely lost without her! :DThanks for sharing these lovely pictures!~ Katiehttp://www.beautifully-pure.com

  3. Aww, how fun! I'm glad you got to hang out with one of your best buddies. Mine lives about the same distance too, but we do get to see each other from time to time. I can't ever grow my hair long because not only is my hair thick like yours, the volume is pretty ridiculous. I can't ever get my hair to flatten without using a hair iron or applying oil (natural or not). One time the lady at the salon cutting my hair said I had hair thicker than a black person's hair. Theirs might look thick, but my is deceivingly thicker! I'm sure that it has something to do with us washing our hair less frequent, which I believe you mentioned sometime ago.

  4. so fun! girlfriends are pretty incredible, aren't they? and i think it's cool that you let us in on a bit of your afternoon together. plus you look gorgeous! the color of your dress is perfect and i'm loving the socks and shoes together.and i think you asked me how tall i am. i'm 5'4" so you're def taller than me but i think we're proportionately about the same size. does that make sense???

  5. awww you two look like great friends! It is great to see bloggers share a little personal life with us, it shows another side of you. 🙂 Cute outfits as well! Love your dress! 🙂

  6. That is so special that you have such a great friendship! 🙂 One of my best friends I met through the internet years ago as well, and she has become such a great encouragement to me. 🙂 You both look so cute as well–I can't get over how long your hair is!!! 😀 (Lots of hair-length envy here!)♥ Casey

  8. Aw thank you Victoria! It was such fun seeing you again and I am very blessed to have a friend like you. 🙂 Hahah yeah I am one of those girls who changes 248597345 times before settling on an outfit. I started with this sweater and khakis, then changed to a dress my mom-mom made for me which was kind of a house dress style, but I didn't like how it was fitting up top so I changed into another house dress that I got from Forever21 I think, but remembered its the same dress I was wearing when another friend took pictures of me, plus I needed to shave my legs so I just put pants back on.

  9. HOW Sweet! I love that last pic of the two of you together…you both are so beautiful. It's definitely a framer. I'm so happy you two can maintain your friendship, even at opposite ends of NJ. 🙂

I love both of your outfits, and dannnnng your hair's gotten long!I also met one of my best friends (not to mention my husband) through the *cringe* internet. I think it's God's way of reminding me to not be overly haughty in my anti-technology tendencies. =P
