Modest Fashion Features #28 + Giveaway winner

Congratulations to Ashley of Hudson’s Happenings on winning the Shabby Apple dress Giveaway!!! She was chosen randomly with the number generator. This is what she said about modesty: “I like that modesty is beautiful. Modesty is classy. And modesty is STYLISH! (look at all the lovely ladies in your Modest Fashion Features!)”
Thanks to all those who entered. Hopefully I’ll have some more giveaways in the future for you all to have another chance at winning cool things!

I noticed that if you use google chrome’s browser, my disqus comment box doesn’t load correctly, while internet explorer has no issue at all.  I don’t know about the other browsers though. Hopefully the problem will clear up.

To all you U.S. citizens, enjoy your holiday weekend celebrating our nation’s birthday! Happy Independence Day (tomorrow)!

  1. I love modest fashion. I'm personally getting a little tired of short hems and now calf-length and knee-length skirts are so appealing to me.Thank you very much for the very informative comment! As much as I hate to say it, you are right, Laurie and Jo just aren't right together. I guess what I'm trying to say is, those two are so alike yet they are so different. Throughout the book, I never could see Jo having those sorts of feelings for Laurie; it was all hypothetical in my mind. Laurie was a really frustrating character to watch, as there were so many flaws about him, but that's what makes him so believable, I guess. Anyway, Amy wanted exactly what Laurie wanted, so what's more to say? :))

  2. Just wanted to add one more thing: Let's say Jo and Laurie DID in fact get together. Here are two extremely passionate people who are alike in so many ways. Jo would have a passionate affair with Laurie, but would the flame last? Most likely, no. Bhaer is a more suitable choice for Jo in an adult relationship, sense.

  3. It's fun to think about the options and other ways that things could have worked out or not.  I need to read Little Men in the future too (which is about Jo and Mr. Bhaer's sons).
