Warm Spiced Milk Recipe

I’ve been making loads of recipes from this great book called 101 Autumn Recipes.  I had Rob go through the book and put little tabs on anything he would want me to make for him.  One of the recipes he wanted me to make was Warm Spiced Milk. It was very simple!   Rob said after trying a sip (and eventually the whole thing), “It is like drinking a cinnamon bun!” He was right. It really is so delicious. I thought I’d share the recipe with you all so you can make some throughout the autumn and winter as well.

You will need:
2.5 cups of milk (I used organic whole milk)
1/3 cup of apple butter
2.5 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

How to make it:
Whisk ingredients together in a saucepan (I used a medium sized 2-3 quart pot).  Heat over low heat until milk steams (do not boil).

I think this really only makes enough for two people (possibly three or four people with smaller mugs or in teacups), so if you want to serve more people, I suggest a double portion and upping your size of saucepan or pot. It took about 5 minutes to make.  It was really wonderful having this before bed and made me feel sleepy!
