We went to a nearby (tiny) farm just to get out of the house and do something over the weekend (I am at home too much and Rob wanted to relax at home after he got out of work, so we were only out for about an hour).  The boys love animals and I am sure you have gathered that I adore farm animals and farms.  There are farms in NJ, but in Northern NJ, it is a bit more rare other than in one particular county.  I was really sad to see that there was a “no-pet” rule posted all over the farm.  They had a horse (maybe a mare or cob horse?) who went up to me and kept nudging me. I frowned at my husband because he had to warn me to not pet the horse (every part of me wanted to give it a hug).  My first job was working with horses at a summer camp two summers in a row when I was 15 & 16.  I really loved it, so to not be able to pet the horse made me so sad!  The horse wanted me to pet it! It was sweet.
What did you do this weekend?

People asked me how this hairstyle was done, so here’s a quick tutorial as well as how to put in bobby pins so they don’t show/stick all out all over the place.

  1. I love your hair like that – and I wish I had ever had hair long enough to do it (shoulder length is crazy long for me!) I love this outfit – the boots are so cute with the skirt and fit right in the farm atmosphere

  2. I love your outfit Victoria! The hair style reminds me of the victorian era around the 1860s or a hairstyle from the movie Bleak House. Very pretty! That horse loves you, that is so sad you could not pet him I agree. I learned to ride horses when I was 7 years old, I wish I could ride again. I only did lessons for a year but absolutely loved it. My horse was blind in one eye and his name was Oreo because he was black with a white mark on his nose. 🙂

    God bless,

  3. This outfit is so very sweet! I love your dress and you always have the greatest hairstyles. The pictures with the horse are great too, you can tell you’ve been around them before 🙂

  4. Oh that is rather sad – it would have been really hard for me to not pet that beauty as well. These are dreamy photos Victoria & the location is my favorite of yours! Of course you are stunning. Your little guys are always adorable 🙂

  5. I normally just wear my hair down or put in a rubber band, maybe I should do something more fancy every now and then too 😉

  6. I love your hair, I am always sad to know my thin hair would never do that, maybe if I added extentions or something, but, at least I can look at yours!

These pics are precious! I so would have pet the horse at that point! The people who lived across from my Grandfather owned horses and we would go over and pet them and feed them, I never rode a horse though. Its on the bucket list.

I love this outfit, I really like long skirts and sweaters! It’s almost a soft, 90’s look, but with your own personal touch!

Yeah I am still a little behind on Classic Who. I watch TV while on the treadmill now, but I can’t hear those episdoes very well, so I can only watch when I get the time. I am almost through the Dalek series (it’s like 7 episodes or something?). I Susan annoys me too most of the time, and I am 50/50 on Ian. I like Barbara, I feel like she keeps them together, although she hasn’t ever taken the lead or anything. I like seeing smart women, lol. In the new series, I liked Rose because she was passionate, I liked Donna because she was funny, but I was so annoyed with Martha! When I first saw her, I loved her, finally, a smart girl! But then they made her fall in love with the doctor and she just whined. I liked her on Torchwood, and I liked her when she came back and was not traveling with the doctor anymore and now I think I would like her to come back. I can’t wait to get to the rest of the Doctors though!

  7. oh man that would be so sad. Were you able to meet the farmers and ask why they wouldn’t let you pet them? When my mom and I went to a pumpkin patch in October our favorite part was that no one said anything to us when we wandered into the stables and were petting all the horses, many really wanted some love. Your first jobs sound amazing, wish I could have done that! Def beats working in fast food (my first job) and I love horses too. Love your outfit, you look so great w/ long skirts & the up-do fits so great w/ the farm. Your boys seem to have loved the little trip as well, they’re so sweet to see!

    • Aww that is really cute that you went and pet horses. I didn’t see any farmers around! If there were any around, they were too busy elsewhere.

Which fast food place did you work at? I’m sure it gave you money that you needed, so that’s what is important!

      Thank you!

      • hey Victoria! I just clicked on an old post and saw some of your replies… i never get an alert and had never seen them before, total bummer because you have some really sweet ones! We petted the horses on my post to the pumpkin patch where i went w/ my mom, I remember you left a kidn comment saying something like, you’re really a cutie do you know? haha not exactly that but it made me laugh because thanks to my hubs I do now : ) and I worked at Sonic Drive-In, not sure if they have those over where you are. It wasn’t bad at all actually, I enjoyed it for a first job and took order out to the cars so I was walking around a lot at least and back then people gave tips so little change here and there added up and I ended up saving it all, several thousand to use to study abroad in Spain (where I met Jonny – so def no complaints : )

      • Aw. That’s really awesome. We had the first Sonic open up over here two years ago. Not too into their food but they have wonderful ice creams/milkshakes, granted I haven’t been there in a year now! That sounds like it would be a hard job to take because of the people you bring the food out to!

  8. oh, now i’ll click the “notify me of followup comments via email : )

  9. Found it! Haha, following ❤ BTW, I love the hair!

  10. Such lovely pictures. I know this is an old post but wanted to request your permission to repost some of these images on our blog? Thank you! 🙂
