We went to a nearby (tiny) farm just to get out of the house and do something over the weekend (I am at home too much and Rob wanted to relax at home after he got out of work, so we were only out for about an hour). The boys love animals and I am sure you have gathered that I adore farm animals and farms. There are farms in NJ, but in Northern NJ, it is a bit more rare other than in one particular county. I was really sad to see that there was a “no-pet” rule posted all over the farm. They had a horse (maybe a mare or cob horse?) who went up to me and kept nudging me. I frowned at my husband because he had to warn me to not pet the horse (every part of me wanted to give it a hug). My first job was working with horses at a summer camp two summers in a row when I was 15 & 16. I really loved it, so to not be able to pet the horse made me so sad! The horse wanted me to pet it! It was sweet.
What did you do this weekend?
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.” -Psalm 32:8-9
